Hi Gamers,

Due to lack of signups, its looks like we may have to cancel the October lan. That is, unless we see a significant increase in the number of gamers that signup BEFORE THIS Monday. We hate to do this, but unless we know that we can cover the cost of the conference room, we will have to cancel the lan party.

We don't want to cancel the event, so please take today and signup to let us know you will be coming.  Take today to call a friend and get them to register as well!

Make it happen!

If I knew more people that did PC gaming, I'd bring them.  But many of my coworkers aren't PC-fluent, and those that have some literacy, game on Facebook...  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  That's kind of why I like coming to LAN parties. Tongue  I'll miss not seeing everyone weekend, but if we can't make the financials work...

I'm wondering if the 2-Day LANs are worth it...  No offense, I love getting extra gaming time in, but it is tiring...  I often feel like I need a vacation day after attending a 2-day LAN. Smiley  It also may be terribly daunting for some people to allocate time for it.  I'm lucky enough to have a M-F job, but for those that don't have a regular schedule, it may be hard to get time off for one day, let alone two... And if you're married with children, I suppose it might be hard to allocate time...

Just from the things i have seen and not saying there is anything wrong with any of them but the core group that where once givens have family's now, lost interest, lost their source of income, or just moved out of the area.

I'd be there if I could but things are tight for me, I don't have wheels and really don't like bumming rides.  I'd still like to go but I'm still up in the air and last minute with EVERYTHING I do its hard to plan anything.

Sooooo.....  Are we calling it?  Is the party officially DOA?  We should probably put something up on the front page if so.

Only 9 people signed up?  *sigh*

So, will CCGA return in '11?

I had a small group coming with me but they all bailed on me last minute (except Luke Tongue) for family or other events (eurofest is that same sat).

I hope I can attend a good size lan event before I move Shocked Maybe its time to have a go out with a bang lan? Like Destro said everyone has stuff pulling them away and with the dying art of lans might be time to throw in the towel.

CCGA can live on with internet play without having to put in so much effort to organize events. Maybe even have meetups where people just hang out instead of lans. Just a suggestion since I have seen where the lans use to be and where they are now with no improvement...

LAN: "I'm not dead yet!"
Attendance: "Yes you are."
LAN: "I feel happee!"

What I'd like to see the LAN do is turn into a gaming con.  We've had a few board games at the last party, but imagine if you could get computers, consoles and boardgames under one roof for the weekend... It would be like a mini-PAX. Smiley
