Alienware - Gaming PC for PC Gaming

Armageddon! in Review

Man, what a GREAT time Saturday! We got a great start and had the network and servers up fast and everyone setup by 11:00. Then the UT started! Close to four hours of UT and the Strike Force mod (Thanks CaptRR). Some DF3 and Red Alert 2, Diablo II plus some hearty rounds of Quake 3 and a few Counter Strike matches. Whew, quite a lot of games in there. And all that in before 8:30 shutdown!

A hearty welcome goes out to the first timers that attended:

CaptRR       --  Thanks for the UT Lazy Matrix mod - We gotta get that working multiplayer!

Destiny        --  I've never been schooled that many times in UT!

Ironwolf      --   Diablo II lord

Serephene  --   Diablo II lady

Despite two power downs (got that fixed!) and one server crash (DoH! Esc key bad Lefty), the day went very well! The new DHCP and file servers worked well and we had no problems with the network. We are going to have one more ARMAGEDDON at the Mall and then we are going to move to Charlotte/Pineville area. That location will be announced later.

On another note, you may have noticed that we are having a bit of trouble with our current provider. Well, that is soon to be over as we are going live on WWW.LANPARTY.COM on the 28th of this month. This is a VERY important step for us and the increased traffic will really increase the attendance at the parties.

Special Awards for the day:

Lefty -- Homer Simpson Award-- for fumble fingers, and forgetting that a server needs a lan cable! ;)

Spectere -- Eternity Award -- Setting Quake Server to 1015 frag limit per round

CaptRR -- Coolest Mod Award -- Lazy Matrix UT

Umpa -- Cool Hardware -- for lending us a schweet projector!

Havok -- Wow! Award -- 1000 feet of CAT 5.....Thanks! (anybody got a crimper?)

Until Armageddon!
